Chera (pronounced, "Share -Ah"), is an award winning self-taught baker and chef that has been free of gluten since 2010, "kitchen and all," she says! 

 

Through the encouragement of her late husband, Gary, Chera began entering cooking and recipe competitions and has been in the food competition circuit since 2010. During this time, she appeared twice on the LIVE show with Kelly Ripa with Michael Strahan and Ryan Seacrest, was a semi-finalist on MasterChef, was in LA as a back-up pizzaiolo (what wet her whistle to creating gluten free doughs), and more recently, she had the amazing experience to bake her heart out in front of Joanna Gaines for the Silos Baking Competition in Waco, TX with a GLUTEN FREE lemon poppy seed blueberry cupcake filled with a blackberry puree and topped with lemon blackberry cream cheese and drizzled with a minted glaze! "Rising Dough Company is my chance to share with you what I've missed personally, healthy and as natural as possible, breads, pizza doughs, and sweets that all of our tummies will be happy with!" i.e. in addition to gluten free, the baker, is in the test kitchen creating dairy free, vegan, and paleo treats! So check back regularly! Our base breads contain no milk, eggs, or sugar (well, sometimes a pinch to activate yeast)! A few accolades: Along with TV appearances, Chera had a cookie recipe published with Barnes and Noble, and has competed across the US, winning multiple trips, prizes, and cash, from mushroom egg drop soup to brioche banana puddn', to a Hog Wild Throw Down in Kansas City, to a burger competition in Napa, and chef even won a trip of lifetime to the Super Bowl for her duck stuffed poblano peppers with a trio of sauces!
